11 weeks. Little bubbies is the size of a small lime. It all still, strangely, doesn't feel real. This is a really strange stage in the process. I have read (evil google) and in books that this is the "are you still in there? still alive?" stage. You feel pregnant, your belly grows but- am I just eating too many carbs? It's a very scary time. Most women don't even get to have their first ultrasound until 12 weeks. Even though we have seen a heartbeat at 7 weeks and was given a chance of less than 5% of miscarriage, you still worry.
*I look good right? lol ----->
Our next ultrasound is in about a week and I am just counting the days down. We did opt to go for the extra ultrasound to check for any abnormalities . I know this is a very controversial topic. Most women don't want to know or regardless of what it says- it's still their baby etc. I think it's good to have all the information to make decisions but mostly, incase you are having a child with downs etc- to be informed. I would want the education, knowing how to prepare etc.
So our 12 week will be ultrasound and bloodwork at a women's ultrasound clinic where they will look for markers. I see my OB every 4 weeks, so I see her the following week.
Back to work, and back to reality. It's taking some time to adjust physically to doing something through the day besides "taking it easy". I can feel the hormone relaxin working it's way through.
I haven't had any strange food cravings but the combos sometimes happen. I just ate olives, cheese and a bowl of cereal. Go figure.
At the 11 week mark I am:
Still on Diclectin for nausea
VERY tired
trouble sleeping/staying asleep
headaches, digestions issues
bloated
sore everything
craving every things from carbs to sweets
Approaching the time to share the news. Most know, but still lots that don't. We will wait till the ultrasound checks out, our photoshoot and then collectively as we sail into week 13, share the news.
Until next time
